Tickets for the September Shop Hop are available.  Come and get 'em while they last!   Registration brings you some free patterns to get your creative juices flowing as well as info about the neighborhood of each of the shops.  Here on Kent Island you'll receive a nice coupon from Periwinkles Gift Shop a delightful depository of great gift items, many locally made, that is just down the street from the shop.  Village Bakery and the new Four Seasons restaurant, both steps away from the shop have promised special offerings for Shop Hoppers.  As a good neighbor, of course I've had to frequent them both (often) and can recommend them highly.   (Please don't share that info with my husband.  He thinks I don't eat well when he travels and I see no reason to disabuse him of that notion!)   September is such a lovely time of year here on the island with the beach traffic settling down and fall breezes starting to blow.  Hope you can schedule your "hopping" so you'll have some time to relax and enjoy our local eateries.

Hi There,  My name is Sue Pilsch.  I'm a transplanted New Englander who opened IYB  several years ago on Kent Island.    I've been knitting so long I  remember when there were only a couple of weights of yarn available in limited colors, but my passion - despite forays into various other needle arts over the years - remains undimmed (some would say untamed).
Being surrounded by magnificent colors and textures all day every day is truly a dream, and I am also lucky enough to have a husband who, while he doesn't share my passion for all things fiber, puts up with and supports it to an amazing degree.   Most important, he  always seems to know exactly when to let me run free and when to rein me in.  Thanks for that, Marty!
Here in the blog I hope to share my journey as a LYS owner as well as the excitement I feel each and every time the UPS delivery man brings me another box of goodies for the shop.   I'm hoping some of you will also take the time to provide some creative feedback which I always appreciate.
So far my greatest problem at the shop  has been which pattern to develop in which yarn and with that as my biggest issue, life is very, very good here at IYB.  Hope you'll enjoy my musings and come back often.
    Take good care, Sue
